On holiday in the Dolomites, full of sport
The Val di Fassa’s deep vocation for tourism makes it one of the most popular destinations for mountain and nature lovers, both in summer and winter.
Moena, but the entire Val di Fassa in general, is a real open-air gym with activities for all tastes and ages: excursions, trekking, mountain-biking, skiing, snowboarding, paragliding, climbing, and much more!
Here it is impossible to stand still…
Skiing holiday
The Dolomites are considered a true paradise for skiers and Moena, with the Trevalli ski area, perfect for all levels of ability. In particular, we are talking about the Dolomiti Superski, the largest ski region in the world. It guarantees you 12 different ski areas and 1,200 km of perfectly groomed slopes with just one ski pass!
The Val di Fassa Tourist Board offers all guests the possibility of cross-country skiing, ski mountaineering, snowshoeing and winter walks to make the most of their winter holiday.
Cycling Holidays
Let yourself be enchanted by the uniqueness and vitality of nature in the Val di Fassa. Breathe in the crisp air that tickles your face, indulge in the sun that envelops you in a warm embrace and let yourself be guided by the sounds and colours of the enchanting Fassa landscapes.
The Ciasa Alpina Relax Hotel is the best place to experience nature within nature: an ideal starting point for wonderful mountain bike excursions to discover the most magical corners of the Val di Fassa.
Endless paths and routes to explore our territory, surrounded by absolute silence. A succession of opportunities for every need: easy and accessible routes for the less expert, but also more difficult and challenging for the more adventurous spirits.
The Dolomite peaks attract fans of this discipline from all over the world. Numerous sporting events are organised every year, such as the Val di Fassa Bike, an international competition held around Moena, and the Sellaronda Hero Mtb, a competitive mountain bike gran fondo event. Not forgetting the Sella Ronda Bike Day: a non-competitive event open to all.
Walking and trekking in summer and winter
Trentino is an area to be explored slowly and the Val di Fassa is one of its most precious gems, offering emotions at every step.
Surrendering to the natural spectacle of the alpenglow in the Dolomites, the crystal-clear water of the romantic mountain lakes and the intense perfumes of the woods are just some of the things you can enjoy during your holiday in Moena.
There are routes for every hiker, thanks to the ski lifts and shuttle bus services.
Along your routes sweet breaks: the refuges where you can recharge your batteries and taste typical Ladin and Trentino dishes, and the malghe where you can savour the genuine products of our territory, such as milk and cheese.
Don’t miss the “Trekking delle Leggende” a 200 km itinerary of 20 stages through the Val di Fassa, San Martino di Castrozza and Val di Fiemme.
In our valley you will find 6 routes suitable for every hiker that will allow you to reach the Marmolada, the Monzoni, the Catinaccio, the Sassolungo and the Sella.
Some quality services are available to make your excursion more enjoyable: transfer, luggage transport, availability of local mountain guides…
Mushrooming
Between summer and autumn, the Trentino area of the Val di Fassa is dotted with many types of mushrooms. Mushroom enthusiasts know the beauty of this activity so far removed from everyday life: the sweet scent of fairy woods, the harmonious sounds of nature and the joy of the search for the perfect mushroom! In the evenings, the harvest is admired with enthusiasm, while the desire to cook these products so genuine and fresh from our land slowly grows.
To protect and preserve the environment, in the Val di Fassa, as in the whole of Trentino, the harvest is regulated by special provincial laws.
Here are some of the precautions to be taken:
- Each person may collect up to a maximum of 2 kg per day;
- Harvesting hours are: from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m;
- Clean mushrooms quickly on the spot;
- Transport the harvested produce in baskets.
